Zendaya is reportedly going into hiding after this year, which will see the releases of her A24 film The Drama, the third season of Euphoria, Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, her fourth Spider-Man movie, and Dune: Part Three. Oh, and squeezed into that tight schedule, the actress somehow found time to co-create a footwear and apparel collection with Swiss sportswear brand On.
Created alongside her personal fashion guru, Law Roach, and On’s product design team, the collection is said to fuse Zendaya’s views on modern sportswear with On’s design credentials, continuing the sportswear brand’s push into the lifestyle space.
On enlisted acclaimed director Spike Jonze to create a short film that brings the creative process behind the collaboration to life. The result is “Shape of Dreams,” a surreal spot set inside Zendaya’s imagined design world called “The Dream Lab.”
Set in a white room that acts as a blank canvas, the ad opens as Zendaya dreams up ideas, her thoughts personified by arms that twist and swarm behind her. The situation grows increasingly surreal, with Zendaya playing around with shapes and materials that evolve and shift as the outfits transform into their final form.
The film is accompanied by still-life imagery from photographer Sean Thomas that gives viewers a behind-the-scenes look at the creative process.
“Zendaya’s creative spirit is felt in every detail — shaping how performance and style come together,” Alex Griffin, chief marketing officer at On, said in a statement. “At On, premium design is embedded in our DNA, and this launch reflects the culture of curiosity and collaboration that continues to shape our work.”
On has been working with Zendaya since 2024, when the sportswear brand signed her for a multi-year partnership.
Prior to this collection, Zendaya and Roach co-created a shoe with On called the Cloudzone Moon, which debuted with “Be Every You,” a film that sees the actress explore facets of her identity. Meanwhile, last year’s “Zone Dreamers” sent Zendaya to space, where she gives herself a pep talk in the mirror.
