Clean Creatives, the five-year-old climate advocacy campaign pressuring advertising and public relations agencies to drop fossil fuel clients, has appointed a new leader. Laura Ranzato, currently the group’s director of community, will succeed Duncan Meisel as executive director on Dec. 12.

A longtime environmental organizer, Ranzato brings experience from climate advocacy group 350.org, reproductive rights nonprofit NARAL, and the Sierra Club to her new role. She began her career as a sixth grade teacher in New Mexico, where she could see two coal plants and a coal mine from the windows of her classroom, Ranzato told ADWEEK. Ranzato began working with Clean Creatives in a consulting capacity in 2022, and joined as a full-time member of staff earlier this year.
