Evening venture: CBS News’ CBS Sunday Morning is entering the live event space, partnering with New York’s 92nd Street Y to present a new series of conversations featuring newsmakers in the arts, politics, and more. These events will be held in front of a live audience, with the first taking place on Monday, Sept. 28, at 6 p.m. ET, featuring correspondent Tracy Smith and actor Sylvester Stallone. Next Anthony Bourdain: CNN has announced the premiere date for its next food travel series, The Detour with David Chang, for Sunday, Sept. 20, at 9 p.m. ET. The CNN Original Series, which follows the acclaimed chef, restaurateur, and author as he pursues no-frills but unforgettable eats on the open road, will air two episodes every week, with the second airing at 10 p.m. ET.
Revolving Door: NBC News has announced that Tammy Fine will be the news outlet’s vice president of talent development. She takes over from Liza Eaton, who has decided to transition to a part-time role reporting to Fine. The network also announced that Kristen Powers will now report to both Fine and Catherine Kim, executive vice president, editorial, bridging the talent development department and NBC News’ editorial leadership team.
Meanwhile, Today co-host Craig Melvin took to Instagram to announce that his wife, Lindsay Czarniak, will be CBS Sports HQ’s new host. “Stoked. Happy. Proud,” read Melvin’s caption, with the former ESPN SportsCenter anchor beginning her new role on Sunday night.
