Ugg‘s Fluff Yeah is ready for its closeup.
The shoe brand has brought back its popular fluffy sandal in response to customer demand, tapping comedian and actress Atsuko Okatsuka for its Spring 2026 campaign. The centerpiece is an ad inspired by sci-fi classics like Attack of the 50-Foot Woman and Godzilla. A Venice Beach pop-up runs March 18–19.
Ugg North America marketing VP Lindsey Dashoff described the shoe as bold, colorful, and tactile — emblematic of the brand’s larger mission.
“Our philosophy is that when you feel comfortable, you feel truly free to express yourself, dress how you want, be yourself, and build that community around you that empowers and lifts you up,” she said.
Ugg sold the Fluff Yeah from 2018 to 2022. Despite being discontinued, it remained popular: Dashoff noted consumers continued searching for it on Ugg’s website and mentioning it on social media. The revived version will be available for a limited time through Ugg’s website and select partners including Urban Outfitters, Foot Locker, and Nordstrom.
For the campaign, Ugg partnered with Tastebuds Studio to build a hand-crafted miniature city — a Los Angeles stand-in complete with an Ugg-inspired Hollywood sign — that took a month to construct.
The decision to forgo generative AI and digital tools was intentional.
“AI and digital tools have a time and place, but we’re such a tactile brand, and the Fluff is such a tactile product,” Dashoff said. “We’re a brand that you have to touch and feel, so it felt natural to lean into a handcrafted set.”
Dashoff said Okatsuka was chosen for her distinctive sense of style, her embodiment of the idea that self-expression should be comfortable for everyone, and because the concept required genuine comedic timing.
“We needed someone who could pull that off in an authentic way, which is why she was just so good,” Dashoff added.
