
As Publicis Groupe makes billion-dollar bets on AI and technology, most recently with its $2.2 billion purchase of LiveRamp this week, chief strategy officer Carla Serrano is wary of a creeping issue: women are slowly but surely being erased from the boardroom.
At the New York Women in Communications Matrix Awards in New York on Tuesday evening, where she was honored, Serrano told a crowd of advertising and media executives that she recently watched an investor day of one of Publicis’ biggest competitors where “the ‘vision for the future’ was delivered by six white men.” Shortly after that, she pitched a room of eight top client executives—also all white men.
