Paramount Skydance’s acquisition of Warner Bros. Discovery has, as expected, hit a snag after 12 states, including California and New York, filed a lawsuit opposing the deal, which would create a media behemoth.
This news of the lawsuit offers some reprieve for CNN staffers who, in recent days, have reportedly felt apprehensive about their potential new owners.
In a press conference on Monday regarding the lawsuit, Rob Bonta, California’s attorney general, said a merger will create “fewer opportunities for Americans to hear the full breadth of information and opinions on a subject, and then come to their own conclusions.”
