Top of the Ticker: CBS Saturday Morning’s longtime co-anchors Michelle Miller and Dana Jacobson sat at the round table one last time this past Saturday.
The duo used the final moments of the morning show’s broadcast to announce their departure, with Jacobson saying, “While it wasn’t our choice to leave, we did have one in how we get to say goodbye.”
Jacobson then acknowledged and thanked the many behind-the-scenes staff who have worked on the show. “Without them, there is no us,” she added.
Miller and Jacobson were part of CBS News’ October layoffs that eliminated nearly 100 positions across the network, affecting both on-air and off-air roles. Also caught up in the layoffs was CBS Saturday Morning executive producer Brian Applegate.
Miller and Jacobson have been part of the program since 2018 and have led the weekend morning show in a dual-anchor format since Jeff Glor’s departure in September 2024. CBS Saturday Morning will remain on the air, but CBS News has not shared any details about what the morning news program will look like moving forward.
“SatMo (CBS Saturday Morning) gave us the opportunity to amplify stories that matter, from all vantage points and the time to tell them fully,” Miller said. She added, “To our viewers, thank you for giving us the inspiration and the confidence to dig deeper. Every story I ever told has reminded me that change is not an ending; it’s an evolution, and I might add, a chance to gain a brighter sense of belonging.”

Lost Access: Regular Apple News readers may have noticed this week that CNN was missing from their feed. This was the result of the news outlet removing its content after the distribution agreement between the two companies expired this past weekend. According to Semafor, CNN and Apple are working on a new deal to “restore CNN’s stories to Apple News.” CNN’s absence from the platform temporarily shields the network from millions of dollars in revenue it could earn, as its content is unavailable to Apple’s large user base.
Start of the holidays: This past Friday, Fox News Media got into the Holiday spirit with the lighting of its Christmas tree on Fox Square, outside the network’s headquarters. The event was broadcast live during Friday’s edition of Fox News’ The Five.
