DDB
Volkswagen “Think Small” (1959)

Avis “We Try Harder” (1962)

Avis turned being ranked number two in car rental services into a marketing advantage–because as underdogs, the brand tried harder, it claimed.
McDonald’s “Did Somebody Say McDonald’s?” (1997)
Before “I’m Lovin’ It,” there was “Did Somebody Say McDonald’s?” by DDB Needham Chicago. The campaign helped turn around sales and position McDonald’s as a cultural icon.
