The Israel Defense Force, in a statement shared with CNN, said the incident represented a “serious ethical and professional failure,” adding that the “standards of conduct and discipline demonstrated in the incident do not align with IDF values.”
The IDF took what appears to be unprecedented action against the battalion involved in my team’s assault & detention.
In many ways, that’s due to our position as US journalists. In too many cases involving Palestinian journalists & civilians, we’ve seen a lack of accountability. pic.twitter.com/jJ0yNWty78— Jeremy Diamond (@JDiamond1) March 30, 2026
Your vote counts: Nominations for the 30th Annual Webby Awards were announced this week, with voting for the best of the internet open through April 16. CNN is leading the pack with 12, including CNN anchor Kaitlan Collins, who’s been nominated for Best Creator, Personality, or Host. ABC News followed with 12 nominations, including its daily news show, What You Need to Know, on Disney+, nominated in the News & Politics category. Meanwhile, CBS News had five nominations, Al Jazeera and NBC News had four nominations apiece, and MS NOW and PBS News each had one nomination. Former CNN anchor Don Lemon also earned two nominations with his Don Lemon Show being nominated for Best Video Podcast Host and in the News & Politics category.
Revolving Door: CBS News is beefing up its investigative unit with the addition of five journalists, including Daniel Gilbert, Gabe Kaminsky, Laura Geller, Jake Rosenwasser, and Callie Teitelbaum. Gilbert is the only external hire, joining CBS News from The Washington Post, where he was covering the business of medicine.
Exposing fraud. Uncovering the truth. Driving accountability.
