Mentally, he also has a boost from having his nearly 70-year-old father involved. “It’s never lost on me how much fun it is” to have him along on casual rides, Adams said. And on competition days, “I always have a pit crew, somebody to help me take my tire warmers off, give me a fist bump before I go out.”

With his success, Adams has lined up a sponsor, local repair shop Suspension Matters (who are also on call for race-day mechanical advice), while Boathouse has supported his travel and equipment needs. He’s also bartered his creative skills as an animator and video producer for discounts on gear.

He also still keeps in touch with his original road motorcycle crew, which formed on TikTok and takes frequent rides along the Pacific Coast Highway. They keep track of each other through apps like Find My Friend and Life360, which also send out alerts if someone crashes. The biker community—Adams has hundreds of friends between the apps—then rallies to render assistance.

“One of the best parts of motorcycling,” he said, “is how much everyone just looks out for each other and wants everyone to have a good time.”
