Oscars: Meanwhile, CNN returns to the red carpet this coming Sunday, teaming up with Variety to provide pre- and post-coverage of the 98th Annual Academy Awards. CNN & Variety Red Carpet Live will begin at 4 p.m. ET, co-hosted by CNN’s Elizabeth Wagmeister and Variety co-president and co-editor-in-chief Ramin Setoodeh. They will be joined by Cari Champion, CNN Style’s Rachel Tashjian, and Women’s Wear Daily style director Alex Badia live from New York City in the CNN Style Spin Room. Van Lathan will host the CNN & Variety Red Carpet Afterparty alongside Wagmeister and Setoodeh.

Program premieres: Finally, CNN announced the premiere dates for two of its CNN Original series. The debut of the Kara Swisher Wants to Live Forever series will take place on Saturday, April 11, at 9 p.m. ET. The six-episode series follows Swisher’s journey into the rapidly expanding world of longevity science and humanity’s enduring quest to cheat death. The following day at 9 p.m. ET, Eva Longoria: Searching for France premieres with an eight-episode series, airing two episodes per week.

New hires: On Thursday, CNBC International announced two new additions to its London newsroom, including Joseph Wilkins, who joins as a CNBC Pro reporter. He will be contributing to market‑moving digital reporting, real‑time analysis, and live blog coverage for CNBC’s premium subscription product. Mike Sheen joins as a markets & finance editor, overseeing CNBC International’s coverage of global markets, banks, deals, and corporate finance across EMEA.

Career recognition: Fox News’ Jennifer Griffin, CNN’s Manu Raju, CBS News’ Vladimir Duthiers, NBC News’ Tom Llamas, ABC News’ Juju Chang, and former executive producer of CBS News’ 60 Minutes’ Bill Owens on Thursday night were all named honorees of the RTDNA’s First Amendment Award during the 35th annual First Amendment Awards at The Watergate Hotel in Washington, D.C. According to the RTDNA, these journalists were recognized for “their efforts to promote responsible journalism and preserve the constitutionally guaranteed rights to do so.”
