Dating app Hinge has promoted its chief marketing officer (CMO) and president, Jackie Jantos, to lead the business as chief executive (CEO), effective immediately.
Tamika Young, who has been with the business since 2023, will take on the expanded role of chief marketing and communications officer (CMCO).
The leadership reshuffle comes as Hinge founder Justin McLeod exits to launch Overtone, an AI-powered dating app.
He will remain an advisor to Hinge through March to support the transition.
“It’s an incredible honor to step into this role and continue leading Hinge into its next chapter—supporting the well-being of daters and society at large,” said Jantos in a statement.
“Hinge is designed to help people across all backgrounds forge meaningful connections, and we’re at a powerful moment of momentum. With empathy and insights at our core, we’ll keep supporting the millions of people — on and off the app — who are seeking deeper relationships.”
A new chapter for Hinge
Jantos was hired by Hinge in 2021, from online credential security platform Dashlane, bringing experience from Spotify, Coca-Cola, and Ogilvy & Mather.
She added president to her remit last year, including oversight of Hinge’s day-to-day strategy and execution, and its cross-functional teams.
The marketer is responsible for Hinge’s most high‑profile campaigns, including its global trademarked “Designed to Be Deleted” positioning, which transformed the brand from a swipe‑culture novelty into one defined by more meaningful connections.
“If you want to build products that truly change people’s lives, you have to start with culture and a deep understanding of the people you serve. Jackie lives that philosophy,” said Justin McLeod. “I’ve seen how powerfully she can translate insight into impact, and I’m confident she’ll carry Hinge forward with the same compassion and courage that have guided us from the beginning.”
Her successor Young joined the business as svp, global communications in 2023 from Netflix.
The company said Young will guide how Hinge’s “mission and values of authenticity, courage, and empathy show up in the world,” reaching intentional daters seeking deeper connections.
From CMO to CEO
Jantos joins a school of CMOs who stepped into more senior C-Suite roles in 2025.
These include Eos Products’ Soyoung Kang, who was recently appointed president; Hotel Chocolat’s Lysa Hardy, who was named U.K. CEO in September; and Culver’s Julie Fussner, who was promoted to CEO back in April.
