How A24 and Timothée Chalamet Dreamed Big for the Marty Supreme Marketing Campaign

A24’s Marty Supreme is living up to its namesake, proving to be one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year.

According to Deadline, the film has already achieved the fastest-selling presale for an A24 movie and the biggest per-theater average for a limited release in 2025, grossing $875,000 from 6 theaters in one weekend.

Loosely based on real-life table tennis player Marty Reisman, Marty Supreme, which will be released in the U.S. on Christmas Day, follows a fictional ping-pong prodigy’s rise through the underground table tennis scene in 1950s New York City. However, through the film’s innovative marketing, Marty Supreme has become less of a character in a movie and more of a star in reality.
