The Interactive Advertising Bureau is gearing up for one of its most significant Annual Leadership Meeting summits ever.
Today, the trade organization released an agenda featuring Kevin Bacon, Nissan U.S. CMO Allyson Witherspoon, creator Remi Bader, and Bozoma Saint John, an entrepreneur, co-host of On Brand with Jimmy Fallon, and star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
The agenda, which can be viewed in full below, reflects an era in which technology, celebrities, influencers, and culture collide to transform consumer behavior and how marketers and publishers must react to capitalize on these changing habits.
“We’ve entered an era where AI agents, not just consumers, will be making the decisions: not just about what to buy, but what messages are worthy of a consumer’s attention,” IAB CEO David Cohen told ADWEEK. “Our industry has invested billions learning how to persuade humans. But if we’re honest, we don’t have a good sense about how to persuade AI yet.”
The industry, he said, has adapted to algorithmic change before and will have to do so again, with greater speed and scale than ever before.
And as company-to-consumer interaction becomes even more ephemeral, thanks in part to AI, it’ll become even more difficult for brands and publishers to know whether their activities are driving results.
“This year is about enabling buyers and sellers to transact on shared, accountable standards—not just impressions or clicks, but real business outcomes,” Cohen said.
IAB ALM hopes to help marketers make sense of that growing complexity.
