Luquire’s Dominique Robinson Is Bringing Golf to Everyone

After logging off from his job as integrated media supervisor at North Carolina agency Luquire, Dominique Robinson shifts into planning mode for his golf apparel brand Urban Eagle. Instead of media strategies and client KPIs, he’s thinking about shirt designs or planning the brand’s next community activation.

Robinson, along with two fellow golf-loving friends, co-founded Urban Eagle in January 2025 as their way of making the sport more inclusive—and maybe find more partners to add to their tee time. Robinson often golfs at public courses, where many of the strangers he’s been paired with have become his friends.

“I can’t tell you how many people I’ve met on the golf course,” he said.

Growing up in Louisville, Ky., Robinson was introduced to the sport through the pro golf-backed First Tee organization around age 8. The experience didn’t last—none of his friends played—but Robinson returned to the green in his 20s. What made him stick with it this time was the challenge.

“Golf is one of those sports where anybody can honestly do it,” he said. “It just takes the grit to go through the painful stage of not being good with it until you are able to get good. No matter if you’re 5 or if you’re 70-plus, you can golf.”

Seeing those incremental improvements built his confidence; Robinson now golfs almost every weekend in the warmer months, with a handicap of 14. When the snow arrives, he keep his skills sharp at TopGolf.

Along the way, he’s seen the face of golf change, with more young people, women, and people of color out on the course. Continuing to make the sport they all love more accessible provided the spark for Urban Eagle.

Robinson and his two business partners all brought complementary expertise. John Giddens, an entrepreneur, leads retail outreach as well as business development. Antonio Dewalt, who works in supply chain logistics for Ford, manages inventory and fulfillment.

As a longtime marketer and graphic designer, Robinson oversees content, brand identity, and online presence. His colleagues at Luquire have been supportive as well, offering cross-discipline insights that were crucial to figuring out how to distinguish the brand in a crowded market.
