On-air tribute: Noticias Telemundo anchor Julio Vaqueiro will host a primetime special tribute to the late Mexican musical icon Juan Gabriel on Friday at 10 p.m. ET. Airing live on Telemundo and streaming on Noticias Telemundo Ahora, Juan Gabriel, Amor Eterno will feature in-depth interviews with family and friends as they reflect on Gabriel’s life and his prolific 45-year musical career, encompassing more than 1,500 songs released across more than 40 albums. He also toured for decades before his death ten years ago.
Revolving Door: Fox News announced that Emily Compagno is moving from Outnumbered to its No. 1 show, The Five, where she will be a co-host. Starting Tuesday, Sept. 8, Compagno will be seated alongside Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, and Jesse Watters, as well as the rotating liberal seat of Harold Ford Jr. and Jessica Tarlov. The network said it will use a rotating pool of Fox News personalities on Compagno’s former noon ET show until it names a permanent co-host.
CNN announced that Krishna Andavolu has been named explainers correspondent. Andavolu, who joined CNN from VICE in 2025, will continue to host the streaming series, CNN Explainers.
Meanwhile, the network also announced that John Simons was named senior director, business and media coverage. Simons was previously a partner at the Brunswick Group and, prior to that, executive editor responsible for national, business, and technology news at TIME. In this new role, Simmons will report to Marie Beaudette, vice president, business and media for CNN.
Adele Hixon-Day is joining C-SPAN as its inaugural chief development officer. In this senior leadership role, Hixon-Day will focus on C-SPAN’s philanthropic strategy, building relationships with foundations, major donors, and individual supporters. An executive with more than 15 years of fundraising experience, Hixon-Day has previously worked at the Smithsonian Institution as chief advancement officer and as vice president of development at the National Trust for Historic Preservation.
