Okatsuka, a rising comedic star with a trademark bowl cut, has had stand-up specials on HBO and Hulu. She came to the campaign with personal stakes: she owned two pairs of Fluff Yeah sandals in 2018 and wore them until they gave out, comparing them to “walking on clouds.”
That history, combined with Ugg’s brand values, made the fit feel organic.
“Ugg focuses on comfort and individuality, which is how I approach both my comedy and style,” Okatsuka said. “Accessibility is so important to me, and being passionate at the same time so it was really cool.”
The film was shot on DSLR by photographer Amber Asaly and will run across digital, social, and out-of-home placements in New York and Los Angeles.
