For agencies, November was defined by building anticipation toward the defining moment of the year: Omnicom’s takeover of IPG. Officially closing on Nov. 26, the deal brought together two of the largest agency networks to form a mega-holdco that will reshape the industry while impacting thousands of agency jobs.

Layoffs, which culminated with 4,000 cuts announced on Dec. 1, have been rolling all year. IPG disclosed in November that it shed 3,200 roles since January.
