GMA and Today Grow Across-the-Board

A new month began with positive trends for both ABC News’ Good Morning America and NBC News’ Today, recording week-to-week gains in total viewers and the Adults 25-54 demo.

GMA outshone the other morning shows with double digit gains in the prized demo for the week of June 1, a five-week high for ABC News’ morning franchise. Meanwhile, CBS News’ CBS Mornings was the only broadcast to lose total viewers, but did see some growth in the demo.

According to Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, GMA averaged 2.702 million total viewers and 470,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of June 1. Compared to the previous week, ABC News’ morning show was up +1% among total viewers and +11% in the demo. When looking at how it performed in the same week in 2025, GMA was up by +4% in total viewers and +3% in the demo.

Today remained on top in total viewers and the demo, finishing with 2.978 million and 640,000 viewers, respectively, for the just-concluded week. The broadcast saw a +1% increase in total viewers and a +7% increase in the A25-54 demo compared to the previous week. When put up against the same week in 2025, Today was up +22% in total viewers and the demo.

CBS Mornings had 1.693 million total viewers and 285,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of June 1. Compared to the previous week, CBS News’ morning show was down by -4% in total viewers but up by +1% in the demo. Versus the same week in 2025, CBS Mornings saw declines of -4% in total viewers and was flat in the demo–the only morning show to decline in either measured category in this yearly comparison.
