Beyond his professional achievements, colleagues remember Schmetterer as a leader who brought people together and pushed them to think differently about the role of creativity in business.

Schmetterer leaves behind his wife of 38 years, Stacy Chiarello Schmetterer, his two sons and granddaughter.
