  • During primetime, Fox News was up -9% in total viewers but down -12% in the A25-54 demo. During total day, the network posted gains of +7% in total viewers but fell by -21% in the demo—the only network with declines within this yearly comparison.
  • MS NOW was up +1% in total viewers and +18% in the demo. During total day, the network was up +14% in total viewers and +27% in the demo.
  • In primetime, CNN grew by +60% in total viewers and +57% in the demo. During total day, it rose by +44% in total viewers and +32% in the demo.

PROGRAMMING:

Fox News had 13 out of the 15 spots of the most-watched cable news shows of the week, with The Five airing weekdays at 5 p.m. ET, rising to the top with 3.838 million total viewers. MS NOW was represented in the chart by The Rachel Maddow Show, which airs only on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, finishing in seventh place with 2.628 million total viewers. The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, airing weeknights at 10 p.m. ET, drew 1.604 million total viewers, placing 15th.

The Five, which airs weekdays at 5 p.m. ET on Fox News, also finished No. 1 in the Adults 25-54 demo, averaging 339,000 viewers. Fox News held 13 of the 15 top spots in the demo. MS NOW’s The Rachel Maddow Show, airing only on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, landed in third place with 325,000 demo viewers. CNN NewsNight with Abby Phillip, airing weeknights at 10 p.m. ET, ranked No. 15 with 177,000 demo viewers.
