Top of the Ticker: Friday’s edition of CBS Mornings did not cover the final episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. According to Puck’s Matt Belloni, the decision not to cover the finale on CBS News’ morning show was made by CBS News president Tom Cibrowski, who was not happy that the late-night show host made fun of the network’s failure to get Tony Dokoupil into China during President Donald Trump’s visit.
TVNewser reached out to CBS News for comment but received no response.
Meanwhile, Friday marked the end of CBS News Radio’s nearly 100-year run. The network, which fell victim to budget cuts under its new Paramount Skydance owner, used Edward R. Murrow‘s voice during its final broadcast. Murrow’s signature sign-off, “ Good night and good luck,” was played before the broadcast’s final words.
This is the final CBS News Radio broadcast, aired between 11 p.m. (the top of the hour is first) and 11:30 p.m. (the final special report).
After 99 years on the air, CBS Radio News has ended.

The new state-of-the-art studio, previously used by MSNBC/MS NOW, has been outfitted with cutting-edge technologies to enhance storytelling and audience understanding. It offers nearly 300 square feet of production space within a fully immersive 360-degree shooting environment, floor-to-ceiling LED video walls, as well as LED moving lights.

Revolving Door: Christine Romans’ new NBC News Now show has an executive producer with the streaming news network, appointing Kerrie Wudyka to that position. Wudyka was previously with MS NOW, most recently serving as the executive producer of MS NOW’s Ana Cabrera Reports. Romans’ new show will launch later this summer.
