After that, there was a live, in-studio performance by the quartet, joined by McCartney and The Great Big Joy Machine, as they sang a rendition of The Beatles’ “Hello Goodbye,” which led to Colbert’s family, the celebrities on hand, and the entire The Late Show staff getting on stage for the giant sing-along.
As the segment continued, viewers at home were transitioned to Colbert and McCartney meeting at the back of the building, where Colbert gave McCartney the honor of turning off the lights, which again caused the building to be sucked into the interdimensional wormhole.
