Not everyone was happy about the campaign shining such a harsh spotlight on a controversial subject, particularly as North American cities look to show their best face to the world. Brown said some media outlets wouldn’t run the work.
“We had to have a lot of honest conversations about how we present our city. Law enforcement told us trafficking wasn’t going to be a primary concern. But the fact is, trafficking affects everything,” Brown said. “Yes, Seattle’s a great place. Let’s keep it that way. Let’s not tolerate this.”
