This week, commerce media saw new hires at companies including Home Depot and Dentsu, and an intriguing new acquisition from Perion that’s been rumored about for months in retail media circles.

Creator marketing also got new funding, and Gap’s Athleta tries to make its comeback.

1. Home Depot gets a new ad chief

The Home Depot named Christine Foster general manager and VP of Orange Apron Media, effective Sept. 8. Foster joins from Kroger Precision Marketing, where she led commercial strategy and operations. She will oversee Home Depot’s retail media business across more than 2,300 stores and ecommerce, including its managed-service and self-service offerings.
