Friday will mark the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, and the various news networks are covering the solemn anniversary with special programming from the three locations directly impacted on that catastrophic day, including New York City, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
Here is how each network will cover the morning events honoring those lost and the heroes from that fateful day, which changed America and the world’s trajectory. (All times Eastern.)
C-SPAN
- At 6 a.m., C-SPAN’s Washington Journal will be live with viewer calls and archival material from September 11, 2001.
- The network will air live events from the 9/11 Memorial in New York City, the Pentagon, and the National Flight 93 Memorial in Pennsylvania.
CBS News/CBS News 24/7
- CBS Mornings co-hosts Gayle King and Nate Burleson will be joined by CBS Evening News anchor Tony Dokoupil at Ground Zero in New York, with Norah O’Donnell reporting from the Pentagon at 7 a.m.
- Dokoupil and O’Donnell will anchor a 90-minute CBS News Special Report beginning at 8:30 a.m., which will also stream on CBS News 24/7.
CNN
- The network’s coverage begins at 7 a.m. with Kate Bolduan anchoring from Memorial Plaza at the National September 11 Memorial & Museum in Lower Manhattan, with Brynn Gingras providing real-time reporting from the commemoration ceremony.
- John Berman and Sara Sidner will also join from New York, and Brian Todd will be in Washington, D.C., with Danny Freeman in Shanksville, Pennsylvania.

- Special coverage begins with Fox & Friends co-hosts Brian Kilmeade, Ainsley Earhardt, and Lawrence Jones broadcasting live from the Hyatt House in Jersey City, overlooking the New York City skyline, while Steve Doocy contributes from Ground Zero.
- At 9 a.m., America’s Newsroom co-anchors Bill Hemmer and Dana Perino will broadcast live from Brookfield Place overlooking the World Trade Center campus in downtown Manhattan.

- Savannah Guthrie and Craig Melvin will anchor a special edition of Today beginning at 7 a.m. with Guthrie reporting from Ground Zero.
