With 24 years at top communications shops like Weber Shandwick and Edelman under his belt, Jim O’Leary has learned the ropes in every practice area from finance to tech, politics to popular culture.
But the most valuable thing he’s learned might be that all of it has changed virtually overnight.
“Right now in the communications industry, we’re in the middle of a massive generational shift,” O’Leary told ADWEEK. “And we’re seeing that firms that were architected for the previous decades look fundamentally different from the firms that are built for the future.”
In August, O’Leary will leave his post as North America CEO of Weber Shandwick to take the same post at Penta, which he believes is one of those future-facing firms.
