Politico is expanding beyond its long-running Pro subscription business, launching a new technology policy franchise called Decoded, according to chief executive Goli Sheikholeslami.
The daily briefing, which will debut as a newsletter on Oct. 5 with an accompanying podcast, will draw on reporting from nearly 50 journalists across the globe, including bureaus in Washington, D.C., Sacramento, London, and Brussels.
The newsletter will be free to Pro subscribers and offer a preview period for other readers, but it and the podcast will go behind a paywall in the first quarter of 2027, according to Chris Cadelago, who will lead the team in his new role as executive editor for global technology and California.
