The network has used the Peacock branding since the mid-90s. Unlike MS NOW, which was required to drop its former name, MSNBC, before its official split from NBCUniversal News Group, CNBC, according to an SEC filing, will be allowed to keep its name for the next five years under a trademark license agreement.
Versant will officially become a standalone company after the close of trading on January 2, 2026, subject to customary conditions.
