ABC News’ Good Morning America matched the summer weather, remaining hot for the week of July 13 and being the only morning show to grow in total viewers and the Adults 25-54 demo.

GMA grew its total viewer lead over Today from a difference of 24,000 additional viewers the previous week to a difference of 93,000 viewers.

In addition, ABC News’ morning show managed to cool Today’s demo viewership dominance, shrinking NBC News’ broadcast’s lead to less than 100,000 viewers. This has been the closest GMA has been to Today since the week of Jan. 12, 2026.

As for CBS News’ CBS Mornings, it continues to fall further behind its peers, dropping by double digits in the advertiser-coveted demo. CBS News’ morning program had its lowest-rated week in its history in both measured categories.

According to Nielsen’s national live+same-day big data plus program ratings, GMA averaged 2.837 million total viewers and 458,000 viewers in the A25-54 demo for the week of July 13. Compared to the previous week, ABC News’ morning show was up +1% among total viewers and +10% in the demo—the only morning show with gains in both categories for the week. When looking at how it performed in the same week in 2025, GMA was up by +9% in total viewers and +3% in the demo.

Today remained in first place in the demo with 553,000 viewers and was in second place in total viewers, finishing with 2.744 million for the just-concluded week. Its lead in the demo category over GMA fell below the 100,000 mark, as 95,000 viewers separated the two news shows. Today experienced a -1% decrease in total viewers and -8% in the A25-54 demo compared to the previous week. However, when put up against the same week in 2025, Today was up +13% in total viewers and +5% in the demo.

CBS Mornings had 1.591 million total viewers and 220,000 viewers in the prized demo for the week of July 13. Compared to the previous week, CBS News’ morning show was down -2% in total viewers and -13% in the demo—the only morning show with week-to-week declines. Versus the same week in 2025, CBS Mornings saw a decline of -13% in total viewers and -15% in the demo—the only morning show to decline within this yearly comparison.
